Carbon Reduction Plan

Carbon Reduction Plan

Supplier name: CRX Compression Ltd Publication date: 31st May 2023 Commitment to achieving Net Zero

Genmed is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2045.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions.

Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Baseline Year     2022

Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations.

2022 was the first year of emissions reporting. The period reported is January 2022 to December 2022.

The baseline emissions audit included all scopes 1 & 2 plus significant scope 3 emissions including, Upstream transportation, Waste generated in operations, Business travel, Employee commuting, Downstream transportation and distribution and Purchased goods and services.

The emissions have been calculated using the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG) methods and targets set using the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) principles keeping warming global warming within 1.5°C and achieving net zero by 2045 in line with NHS requirements.

Scopes 1 & 2 emissions were measured and calculated in accordance with SECR requirements.

Scope 3 Emissions were measured and calculated in accordance with the GHG Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard.

To continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.

We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 164 tCO2e by 2028. This is a reduction of 38%.

We also project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next ten years to 82 tCO2e by 2033. This is a reduction of 64%.

These targets have been set using the principles of the Science Based Targets Initiative to keep warming to 1.5°C and to reach Net Zero by 2045 as recommended by the NHS for its suppliers.

Progress against these targets can be seen in the graph below:

Carbon Reduction Projects

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented since the 2022 baseline.

The carbon emission reduction achieved by these measures will be in effect when performing the contract.

In the future we hope to implement further measures such as:

·      Increasing the use of sea transport of products from manufacturing sites.

·      Working with the client to batch deliveries and reduce transport to the place of use.

·      Review the potential for generating renewable energy at the office and warehouse.

·      Reducing the packaging of the products and making all packaging recyclable.
